How is the relationship between biological and chronological age and what can we learn from our telomeres?

Not all individuals age at the same rate, although they have the same chronological age. Therefore, it is important to identify molecular markers (unlike the chronological age) that estimate the degree of aging of the organism.
This information is equally useful to health professionals and individuals to recognize early developments of age-related problems and to consider lifestyle changes. (E.g., overweight and smoking have shown that the telomeric abrasion is accelerated as movement and good nutrition slow it down). We should follow our telomeric dynamics over the years by benefiting from potential telomerase activators.
Many evidence shows that the length of the telomeres is a good indicator of the degree of aging of the organism.
